visual design systems

My exhibition catalog design work includes many design practices, including visual storytelling, information design, image curation, graphic design, and experience design for both digital and physical elements, all building on a visual design system that includes a custom logo, selected typefaces, and design patterns communicated in the brand style guide.

I designed the Tg: Transitions in Kiln-Glass catalog to showcase both award-winners and finalists, with color and style patterns distinguishing the two throughout the publication. I created a circular die-cut opening in the matte white cover as a reference to both the Tg logo and Bullseye logos, and as a metaphor for shining a light on/revealing what is new and outstanding in the world of kiln-glass. The cover text is a clear ink, visible in a subtle way on the cover and repeated for legibility on the title page.

Tg: Transitions in Kiln-Glass is Bullseye Glass Co.’s biennial juried competition honoring outstanding contemporary kiln-glass design, architecture, and art. Works by award winners and finalists are on view in an exhibition touring to Bellevue Arts Museum, Pittsburgh Glass Center and Houston Center for Contemporary Craft.

Bullseye Projects is currently offering free access to many publications that I designed, dating back to 2004.
